On September 26, 2024, His Majesty the King of Thailand graciously appointed General Surayud Chulanont, President of the Privy Council, as his royal representative to confer degrees at the Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) graduation ceremony for the academic year 2023. The esteemed event took place at the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne International Convention Center in Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, with a full assembly of graduates proudly in attendance.
During the ceremony, 2,552 graduates were awarded degrees across master’s and bachelor’s levels. Additionally, an honorary degree was bestowed upon a distinguished monk, and 11 honorary degrees were presented to other notable recipients. Assistant Professor Fapilai Thaveesinsopha, Director of the College of Hospitality and Tourism, along with faculty members, participated in the event to extend their congratulations to the graduates. The atmosphere was one of pride and joy, shared by the university’s leadership, students, and the families of the graduates.
Receiving a degree personally conferred by His Majesty’s representative is considered the highest honor for all graduates. This extraordinary recognition will serve as a lasting source of inspiration as they continue to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.
