The activity integrated various coursework in the field, such as tour guiding, tour program planning, photography, English for tourism, cross-cultural communication, and tourist behavior. Enhancing CHT students’ professional tourism abilities and potential was the goal of the activity. It focused on practical professional training through a number of tourism routes in southern Thailand, including Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phuket, and Phang Nga.
Ajarn Naiyana explained, this activity was designed to equip students with knowledge and hands-on experience in guiding tours through real-life situations and destinations. The CHT Smart Tourism Coaching Series 2024 – Southern Route, took place from November 7–10, 2024 under the concept “We Teach Them to Travel Like Pros”. It aimed to boost students’ confidence and readiness to become professional tour guides. It also focused on developing skills in organizing various types of tour programs, such as the Peranakan Cultural South Sea and Adventure Nature Explore @ Khao Sok. These tourism routes highlighted distinctive experiences including exploring the Peranakan culture in Phuket’s old town and eco-tourism in the Ratchaprapha Dam area within Khao Sok National Park, inspiring students to refine skills that can be further applied in their future careers in tourism.
