The College of Hospitality and Tourism Organizes Camping Management Training to Enhance Camp Management Skills in Line with Sustainable Tourism Standards.


On February 10-11, 2025, the College of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, organized a “Camping” training course on camp management under the project “‘From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Marine Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman through Learning Ecosystem Development, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation.” The practical training was conducted at Ban Mod Tanoi Community, Kantang District, and Khao Pub Pa Resort, Nayong District, Trang.

The training was supervised by Dr. Suyaporn Sortrakul and Dr. Jutima Boonmee, lecturers from the College of Hospitality and Tourism and project coordinators. Distinguished guest speakers with expertise in camp management included Mr. Sanit Ongsara from Khao Pub Pa Resort, former Director of the Rehabilitation and Development Division at the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation; Ms. Kotchapun Suklim, General Manager of Porrawee Inn Tour Co., Ltd.; as well as Dr. Suyaporn Sortrakul and Dr. Jutima Boonmee from the College of Hospitality and Tourism.

The training covered four key topics: selecting camp locations to accommodate tourism activities, camp management and online marketing communication, connecting camp activities with relevant stakeholders, and sustainable camp management. The training aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in camp management, focusing on four essential components: camp location, facilities, management, and community engagement. This approach aligns with the growing trends of nature-based and eco-friendly tourism, contributing to the sustainable and stable development of the tourism industry in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman regions.
