The Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Hospitality Program at the College of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya organized the CHT Smart Tourism Coaching Camp 2025 – Live in Chiang Mai. This camp was part of a professional tourism skill development program titled “Smart Tour Guide Practical Training”. The camp took place in central and northern Thailand from March 6–12, 2025, with study visits and hands-on training in Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok, Ayutthaya, and Bangkok.
This camp was led by Ajarn Naiyana Kamkansilp, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Hospitality Program, along with Ajarn Amornrat Suthithammanon, faculty member of the department. They guided students through field trips and practical training in real tourism settings.
The main objective of the project was to enhance students’ skills as smart tour guides through real-world experiences in key tourism destinations. Students acquired effective storytelling techniques, communication skills, professional service etiquette, and tour management strategies including problem-solving during guided tours. Additionally, students achieved in-depth knowledge of the history, culture, and unique identity of each travel attraction while exploring sustainable tourism concepts and digital technology applications to improve their guiding efficiency.
This project was a big step toward offering students the confidence and practical experience they need to succeed in the tourism industry. The training will enhance their professional skills and expertise, contributing to their future careers while elevating Thailand’s tourism industry to international standards.
