Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya’s College of Hospitality and Tourism Inspires New Divers Through “Fun Dive” Course

On May 15, 2025, the College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT) at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), Trang Campus, organized a short training course on “Deep Diving for Recreation (Fun Dive)” to enhance participants with basic diving skills and prepare them for learning in marine tourism.

The training was supported by Asst. Prof. Fapilai Taweesinsopa, Director of the CHT, endorsed the activity and assigned Dr. Suyaporn Sortrakul, Head of the Tourism and Hospitality Program, Dr. Dusitporn Hokta, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tammachak Lakbanchong, lecturers in the Tourism and Hospitality Program, to supervise the training. Faculty members and staff from the college also took part in the event.

The participants were veterinary technology students who joined the course to enhance their skills outside the classroom to gain new experience through practical learning.

The training emphasized pool-based training in water depths of approximately 1.5 to 2 meters. The content covered the basic scuba diving equipment usage, underwater breathing control, buoyancy, and diving safety rules. This training provided a valuable opportunity to promote diverse skill development among students to prepare them for professional work with great confidence.
