On 14–15 August 2025, the College of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, convened a collaborative initiative entitled “Agreement on Cooperation (MOA) between Agencies and the Private Sector.” This initiative was implemented as part of the broader project, “From Crisis to Adaptation: Advancing High-Quality Marine Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand–Andaman through the Development of Learning Ecosystems, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation.” Specifically, the activity corresponded to Sub-Activity 2, “Supply Chain Development for Building Green Accommodation Networks to Enhance Value,” which seeks to promote sustainable tourism management practices and elevate accommodation standards in alignment with the Green Hotel Standard.
The opening ceremony, held on 14 August 2025 at Majourney Coffee, Trang Province, was presided over by Asst. Prof. Faphilai Taweesinsopa, Director of the College of Hospitality and Tourism, delivered the keynote address. The event encompassed a knowledge-exchange forum on accommodation and tourism management, as well as the formal signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with local tourism enterprises.
A total of seven private sector organizations engaged in the MOA signing, namely:
- Jaravee Tour Co., Ltd.
- Libong Tourism & Koh Rok Camping Co., Ltd.
- Tiewsanook Tour & Travel Co., Ltd.
- Khun June Travel Co., Ltd.
- Ketsuwan Co., Ltd.
- Chao Mai Tour Co., Ltd.
- Le Trang Diving Co., Ltd.
Subsequently, on 15 August 2025, an additional MOA was executed with Srisawat Travel Partnership, Krabi Province. On the same day, participants attended a seminar entitled “Green Hotel Standards” at Resenta Hotel, Phuket Province, followed by a field-based study visit focusing on hotel management practices consistent with international green accommodation standards.
Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was established between the College of Hospitality and Tourism, and Sawanou Travel Co., Ltd.. This agreement was designed to expand cooperative networks aimed at sustainable tourism development and promotion.
Overall, the activity constitutes a significant milestone in fostering the advancement of environmentally responsible, high-quality marine tourism within the Gulf of Thailand–Andaman region. It also underscores the dual objective of enhancing economic value creation while simultaneously strengthening the resilience of local communities and tourism enterprises.
