On September 24, 2025, at PhanTri Phian Chansuebsri Meeting Room, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, the Red Cross Youth Volunteer Club of the College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT) organized the 5th annual Volunteer for Humanity with the Beginner Self-Defense Training: Basic Self-Defense Skills activity, with 120 students participating.
The activity aimed to enhance fundamental self-defense skills, practice handling situations involving potential harm, learn survival methods in emergency cases, and apply the knowledge to solve immediate problems, both for personal protection and to assist others in times of need.
Asst. Prof. Fapilai Taweesinsopa, Director of the CHT assigned Dr.Dusitporn Hokta, Deputy Director for Student Development to open ceremony along with expert instructors, including Maj. Puthares Ketsiri and SM1 Tawatchai Kaewsin, delivered knowledge and practical training on various topics such as: basic self-defense fighting techniques, using everyday objects for protection, survival skills in emergency cases, and the legal knowledges on self-defense.
This activity raised students’ safety awareness and served as a guideline to survival and helping skills which aligned with the Red Cross Youth Volunteer Club’s mission to empower youth as important contributors to society.
