From March 17 – 18, 2026, at Eco Inn Prime Hotel, Trang, Assistant Professor Fapilai Taweesinsopa, Director of the College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, assigned Assistant Professor Dr. Tammachak Lakbanchong, Chair of the Tourism and Hospitality Program, to represent and open the ceremony of the “Development for Raising Accommodation Standards” activity. This activity was conducted under the project “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Gulf of Thailand–Andaman Marine Tourism through Learning Ecosystems, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation.” project
The purpose of this activity was to provide knowledge and awareness regarding the development of accommodation standards, including the application of sustainable energy management concepts and resource management for energy conservation in the accommodation business. It also highlighted the application of modern technology and innovation to improve service quality and strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism industry in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman regions.
The event was privileged by expert speakers, including Assistant Professor Dr. Surachet Dechphung and Assistant Professor Dr. Phatchakorn Areekul, who shared their topics on sustainable energy management in the accommodation business, resource management for energy conservation, and the development of accommodation standards. The program included both discipline and group workshop activities, allowing participants to exchange and apply knowledge in personal accommodation businesses effectively.
This activity was supported by experts who provided opportunities for participants to exchange experiences and explore practical skills to improve accommodation standards. These efforts aim to raise the quality of tourism in the region in alignment with global sustainable tourism paradigms.
The project was hosted by Aj. Jantiwan Samati, a lecturer in the Tourism and Hospitality Program, and Ms. Piyanut Napho, Head of Student Development and Alumni Relations, supported this activity to increase the capabilities of tourism entrepreneurship and workforces, enabling them to adapt to sustainable growth in the future.
