The College of Hospitality and Tourism was established on November 27, 2006. It originated from the Tourism Plan of the Department of Fisheries Management, Faculty of Science and Fisheries Technology, which is an educational institution in Trang province. This institution produces graduates in Aquaculture, Fisheries Industry, Fisheries Management, and Marine Science. In 1999, it began offering a Bachelor of Arts program in Tourism using the curriculum of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala Institute of Technology (Khlong Hok). The historical development is as follows:

  • 2003: The Bachelor of Arts program in Tourism was offered using the curriculum of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala Institute of Technology.
  • 1999-2003: The Bachelor of Arts program in Tourism was offered using the curriculum of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala Institute of Technology.
  • 2004: The Bachelor of Arts program in Tourism (continuing) was offered using the curriculum of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala Institute of Technology, due to the readiness of personnel.
  • 2005: The Royal Gazette announced the change of status from Rajamangala Institute of Technology to Rajamangala University of Technology, comprising nine campuses. This change led to the establishment of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, responsible for providing education in the southern region of the country, to produce knowledgeable, skilled, and capable personnel.
  • 2006: Two additional programs were offered: Bachelor of Business Administration in General Management and Bachelor of Arts in English for International Communication. On November 27, 2006, the Royal Gazette announced the establishment of the College of Hospitality and Tourism under Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Ministry of Education.
  • 2007: The Bachelor of Arts program in Hospitality and Bachelor of Business Administration program in Accounting were offered using the curriculum of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya.
  • 2008-2011: Three Bachelor of Arts programs were offered: Hospitality and Tourism, Hospitality, and English for International Communication. One Bachelor of Accounting program in Accounting was offered.
  • 2012-2015: A new curriculum was developed for the Bachelor of Arts program in Hospitality and Tourism.
  • 2016: The Hospitality program stopped accepting students.
  • 2017: The English for International Communication program stopped accepting students. The Bachelor of Arts program in Hospitality and Tourism was revised, and a new Bachelor of Accounting program in Accounting was developed.
