The Department of Tourism and Hospitality organized a field trip and practical training program along the Southern Thailand route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Dusitporn Hoktha, Associate Director of Student Development, and Miss Amornrat Sutthithammanon, lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, College of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, conducted a professional tourism skill development project. The activity included a study tour and hands-on training along Southern Thailand\u2019s travel routes for first-year and first-year transfer students in Tourism and Hospitality major. The activity was held from March 27\u201329, 2025, to enhance students\u2019 knowledge and practical skills in tour guiding and tour management. The route covered key provinces such as Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Trang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project aimed to provide real-world experience in tourism management, allowing students to practice at actual tourist destinations. They developed service skills, learned problem-solving in unexpected situations, and improved coordination abilities within the tourism business sector\u2014preparing them for the competitive tourism job market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students engaged in practical tour guiding, on-the-spot problem-solving, and tourism site management by visiting major attractions such as: Wat Kang Pla, Wat Phra That Chaiya Ratchaworawihan, Phra That Si Surat, Bang Bai Mai Ecotourism Community, Nakhon Si Thammarat City Pillar Shrine, Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, Nakhon Si Thammarat National Museum, Khun Rattawutwijarn\u2019s House, Wat Khuha Santayaram, and Khao Chang Hai Cave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, they explored agritourism at Robusta Valley Coffee Farm in Thung Song and gained insights into Southern Thai culture at the Suchart Subsin Shadow Puppet Folk Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience gained from this project helps students develop professional and systematic tourism skills. They practiced travel planning, cost control, real-time decision-making, coordination, and trip management in real situations. Exposure to diverse local cultures also broadened their perspectives, making this project a significant step in building both knowledge and skills essential for thriving in the rapidly evolving and highly competitive tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
