The College of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, organized an awareness-raising program to enhance accommodation standards under the sub-project titled \u201cUpgrading Accommodation Standards.\u201d The program was held on 9\u201310 June 2026 at Eco Inn Prime Hotel in Trang Province. Its primary objective was to strengthen the knowledge and capabilities of accommodation entrepreneurs and support the sustainable development of national accommodation standards.
On behalf of Assistant Professor Fapilai Taweesinsopha, director of the College of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Dusitporn Hoktha presided over the opening ceremony. The project was coordinated by Ms. Jantiwan Samathi, lecturer in the tourism and hospitality program, and Ms. Piyanuch Napho, educational academic officer and head of student development and alumni relations.
During the program, Ms. Jantiwan Samathi highlighted the significance of capacity-building initiatives designed to elevate accommodation establishments to national standards. The training focused on key dimensions of accommodation management, including safety, hygiene, and environmental sustainability, which are essential factors in enhancing tourist confidence and strengthening the competitiveness of the hospitality sector.
The event also featured a special lecture by Mr. Peerapol Kao-ian, managing director of Siam General Technology Co., Ltd., who shared professional insights on improving accommodation standards in relation to safety, hygiene, and environmental management. Participants engaged in group discussions and situational analyses that encouraged them to examine practical approaches for implementing quality standards within their own establishments. In addition, successful case studies of model accommodations were presented to demonstrate best practices and facilitate knowledge exchange among participants.
On the second day of the program, Assistant Professor Dr. Papatsakorn Areekul delivered a lecture entitled \u201cEnergy Management for Green Hotels.\u201d The session emphasized effective energy management strategies and environmentally responsible business practices that align with global trends in sustainable tourism development.
This initiative reflects the College of Hospitality and Tourism\u2019s commitment to serving as a center for knowledge development and professional capacity building in the tourism and hospitality industry. Through collaborative academic and professional activities, the college continues to support the advancement of tourism enterprises in Trang Province and Southern Thailand, contributing to the growth of a high-quality, standardized, and sustainable tourism industry.
