On August 19, 2026, the College of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, welcomed teachers and students from Khlong Phon Sarit Phitthaya School, Krabi Province, for an educational visit and a series of English learning activities focusing on tourism and hospitality. A total of 45 teachers and students participated in the activities, providing students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, experience the learning environment of higher education, and explore educational pathways and career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activities were organized by the Bachelor of Arts Program in Tourism and Hospitality, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Thammasak Lekbanjong, Chair of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Tourism and Hospitality, together with faculty members from the program. The faculty members warmly welcomed the students and actively facilitated the learning activities throughout the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program began with registration and an ice-breaking activity designed to help participants become familiar with one another, create an enjoyable atmosphere, and prepare for the learning sessions. The students were then warmly welcomed by Assistant Professor Faphilai Thaweesinsopha, Director of the College of Hospitality and Tourism, together with the college administrators, faculty members, and staff. The college and its three academic programs were introduced: the Bachelor of Arts Program in Tourism and Hospitality, the Bachelor of Accountancy Program, and the Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Management and Business Development. The session aimed to provide students with information about further study opportunities as well as potential career pathways for their future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the learning activities, students participated in hands-on and creative activities connected to real-world practices in the tourism and hospitality industry. One of the highlights was the workshop \u201cEnglish for Food & Beverage Service,\u201d which focused on English vocabulary related to tableware and dining equipment, food menus, taking orders, and serving food and beverages. Students also had the opportunity to practice through simulated service situations, helping them develop their English communication skills in hospitality service contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the \u201cRole Play Simulation\u201d workshop allowed students to work in groups and take on different roles in realistic service situations, including Restaurant Service and Tour Guide scenarios. Through these activities, students practiced using English to communicate, provide information, and respond appropriately to unexpected situations. The hands-on approach encouraged active learning and helped students gain greater confidence in using English for professional communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, students participated in \u201cEnglish for Tourism and Hospitality,\u201d where they learned English commonly used in tourism and hospitality settings, including welcoming guests, introducing tourist attractions, providing information to tourists, and using vocabulary relevant to service work. The program also included \u201cInteractive English Activities,\u201d featuring engaging and participatory activities such as Kahoot\/Quiz, Vocabulary Matching, and Role Play. These activities were designed to enhance students\u2019 English communication skills, confidence in expressing themselves, teamwork, and collaborative learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event provided students with an opportunity to experience a learning environment beyond the traditional classroom while connecting English language knowledge with real-world applications in the tourism and hospitality industry. It also broadened their perspectives on further education and diverse career pathways, providing an important foundation for preparing them for higher education and future employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College of Hospitality and Tourism, RUTS Trang Campus, is committed to strengthening collaborative networks with educational institutions and sharing knowledge, professional experiences, and learning opportunities with young people. Through such initiatives, the college aims to inspire students to pursue further education, develop essential 21st-century skills, and contribute to the development of a highly qualified workforce to support the continued growth of the tourism and hospitality industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
