Between November 14 – 15, 2025, the College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, undertook a strategic study tour across Chonburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan Provinces. The delegation, led by Assistant Professor Fhapilai Taweesinsohpa, Director of the CHT, and comprising the executive board, faculty, and staff, aimed to enhance the capacity of its personnel, elevate the quality of organizational management, and reinforce institutional knowledge in tourism and hospitality practices in alignment with international standards. The initiative specifically supports the core institutional missions: instructional management, research, and sustainable academic community service.
The study tour commenced at the COSI Pattaya Wong Amat Beach Hotel, Chonburi Province, focusing on the principles and operational application of the Green Hotel concept. Key areas of investigation included environmental stewardship and integrated management systems.
The delegation subsequently visited Burapha University, Chonburi Province, for an observational study and knowledge exchange on educational quality assurance, specifically utilizing the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (EdPEx) framework. The session focused on organizational governance and performance monitoring. These benchmarks provide actionable insights for the College to strengthen its operational capacity, thereby elevating its educational standards to a level comparable with leading national institutions.
The final component of the study tour involved an exploration of community-based tourism management at the Janmaprao Thapsakae Community Enterprise Group, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Key learning objectives included local product innovation, sustainable market expansion, and experiential tourism. The insights gained are critical for enriching instructional activities in tourism and hospitality and for fostering future synergistic collaborations between the academic institution and local communities.
