The Student Development Office, College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, organized the 6th Volunteer Service for Humanity – Activity 1: “Ready Hearts, Ready Hands: Save Lives Through Awareness” on 23 June 2026 at Major Pien Jansuebsi Hall, RUTS Trang Campus. The activity focused on students’ training with essential basic life-saving disciplines and practical skills while encouraging a spirit of volunteerism, selflessness, and social responsibility.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Fapilai Taweesinsopa, Director of CHT, assigned Dr. Dusitporn Hokta, Deputy Director for Student Development, to open the ceremony. The event was also attended by Dr. Jatuporn Hokta, Deputy Director for Administration and Planning, college members, staff, student club leaders, and senior students from the College of Hospitality and Tourism.
During the training, Students gained both theories and practical training through lectures, demonstrations, and training in Basic Life Support (BLS), including techniques of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants, as well as first aid procedures of choking assistance for victims. The session was conducted by Ms. Piyapan Kanwong and Mr. Suwat Phetkhao, guest speakers and instructors. Students were assigned to small groups to practice under speakers’ supervision, allowing them to apply the skills in real-life emergencies confidently.
The 6th Volunteer Service for Humanity Project – Activity 1: “Ready Hearts, Ready Hands: Save Lives Through Awareness” was intended to prepare students with important first aid knowledge, emergency response skills, and proper life-saving techniques. These activities can help reduce losses and essentially improve the chances of survival for persons experiencing medical emergencies.
The project not only provides skills but also supports the University’s mission of developing students to be professionally competent with strong moral values, public-mindedness, and commitment to serving others. CHT aims to prepare students to become responsible citizens who can make contributions to society and humanity.
