        College of Hospitality and Tourism, RUTS Trang Campus, Holds 2026 Teacher Homage Ceremony (Wai Kru) “Paying Homage to the Teachers, Builders of New Generation,” Honoring Gratitude and the Lecturers

         On 9 July 2026, at the College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, organized the 2026 Teacher Homage Ceremony under the theme “Paying Homage to the Teachers, Builders of New Generation.” The ceremony took place at the Panya Anusorn Conference, CHT.

         The ceremony aimed to preserve Thailand’s cultural traditions, promote morals and ethics, and foster a sense of gratitude toward lecturers who impart knowledge and train youth to become vital manpower of the nation. Additionally, the event strengthened the relationship between college members and students while encouraging awareness of the value of education as a foundational element for sustainable self and social development.

         On this occasion, Assistant Professor Fapilai Taweesinsopa, Director of CHT, opened the ceremony. The event was attended by executive committees, lecturers, staff, and students in a harmonious gathering. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, respect, and faith of students toward the lecturers.

         During the ceremony, the Director of CHT formally accepted the traditional floral, incense, and candle trays. She also performed the sacred anointing ritual on the college’s curriculum textbooks to bring auspicious blessings to the students’ academic journeys.

         Moreover, Student representatives led the assembly in prayers, reciting the Wai Kru chant, and making their solemn oaths. This was followed by collective paying of respects to the teachers amidst the traditional Sathukan song, underscoring the sacredness and beauty of this valuable ceremony.

         A highlight of the event was the Outstanding Teacher Awards Ceremony for the 2026 Academic Year, held to honor and praise lecturers dedicated to continuous teaching excellence and student development. The awardees included:

  1. Dr. Jatuporn Hokta: Lecturer, Management and Business Development Program;
  2. Assistant Professor Rarin Khuawaraphan: Lecturer, Accounting Program;
  3. Dr. Suyaporn Sortrakul: Lecturer, Tourism and Hospitality Program;
  4. Assistant Professor Supaphon Charoensuk: Lecturer, English for International Communication Program

         The ceremony also granted certificates to students with outstanding academic records and those with excellent contributions to extracurricular activities, boosting their morale to pursue holistic self-development.

         The event concluded with a traditional wrist-tying blessing ceremony and a Wai Kru Pedestal Tray Competition, which showed the creativity, unity, and active participation of students across all disciplines.

         The Student and Alumni Development Office organized the 2026 Wai Kru Ceremony. The ceremony focuses on fostering necessary character traits with academic and professional potential, ensuring that students grow into knowledgeable, capable, moral, and ethical graduates ready to become future high-quality contributors to society.
