Unlocking Career Opportunities: CHT RUTS Trang Organizes Cruise Line Service Workshop with Industry Alumni

October 9, 2026 – The Tourism and Hospitality Department at the College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, organized an experiential learning activity titled “Lessons Learned: Service Experience in the Cruise Ship Industry” at the Ya Thale Meeting Room.

The event was attended by first-year transfer students and fourth-year students majoring in Tourism and Hospitality. Designed to bridge academic learning with real-world practice, the activity aimed to deepen students’ understanding of operational frameworks and essential skill sets required for professional careers in the cruise line industry.

The session featured Mr. Preecha Nika, a distinguished alumnus of the College of Hospitality and Tourism with an extensive professional background on cruise ships, as the key guest speaker. Mr. Nika shared firsthand knowledge and practical insights regarding cruise ship operations, including delivering services to international passengers, effective communication, real-time problem-solving, handling customer complaints, and creating memorable guest experiences—all of which are critical competencies for service industry professionals.

Furthermore, participants engaged in interactive discussions covering real work environments, career advancement pathways, and employment opportunities within the cruise industry. This valuable exchange enabled students to visualize real-life workplace scenarios and effectively prepare themselves for entering the future labor market.

This activity was initiated and organized by Dr. Suyaporn Sortrakul, a faculty member of the Tourism and Hospitality Department. The project reflects the college’s commitment to promoting learning through experienced industry practitioners, enhancing students’ professional service skills, and broadening their perspectives toward global career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector.
