Tourism and Hospitality Students Obtain Experience in Hotel Front Office and Housekeeping Operations

On Monday, September 28, 2026, Assistant Professor Jutima Boonmee, a lecturer in the Tourism and Hospitality Program, led third-year students from the Tourism and Hospitality Program, College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, in the activity “Creative Culture and Modern Hospitality Services.”

The activity was conducted as part of the Front Office and Housekeeping Services and Management subject and included a field visit to Eco Inn Trang Hotel, Mueang Trang District, Trang Province. Students had an opportunity to learn about hotel operations directly from a business, particularly the operations of the front office and the housekeeping department, while applying knowledge acquired in the classroom to practical situations.

On this occasion, Ms. Juthamas Phromngoen, Hotel Manager, along with front office supervisors and staff from the Front Office and Housekeeping Departments, warmly welcomed the students. The hotel team shared knowledge and professional experiences and gave the students guidance through various service areas.

Students obtained practical learning in front office operations, including the check-in and check-out processes, providing information and services to guests, the use of operational documents, and the application of information systems for room reservations and hotel property management.

In addition, the students learned about housekeeping operations, including hotel service standards of room preparation, cleaning procedures, and room maintenance. The experiences helped students gain a clear understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and operational processes of staff in different hotel departments.

The activity was an important opportunity for practical learning, allowing students to experience a workplace environment, learn service practices and professional skills from hotel staff, and inspect how technology and systems are applied to hotel operations. These experiences provide a valuable foundation for developing students’ professional competencies and preparing them for future careers in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Eco Inn Trang Hotel offers 84 guest rooms, and the hotel is located in the middle of Trang. close to other tourist attractions. The hotel caters to tourists, leisure travelers, as well as guests attending meetings and seminars. It places emphasis on cleanliness, comfort, and value for guests with a pleasant and convenient stay.

CHT sincerely appreciates and extends heartfelt thanks to Eco Inn Trang Hotel and all staff for their warm hospitality and generous support in providing students with a valuable opportunity in the hotel business. The sharing of professional knowledge and experiences will contribute significantly to boosting students’ knowledge, skills, and career readiness as they prepare to enter the tourism and hospitality industry.
