CHT, RUTS, Trang Campus Turns Crisis into Opportunity! Advances Tourism Personnel Development and Raise Co-Tourism Services to International Standards

The College of Hospitality and Tourism (CHT), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Trang Campus, organized the “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman through Ecosystem Learning, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation” project. It aims to strengthen the tourism capabilities among the workforce in Thailand’s coastal areas and enable them to adapt to the paradigms. The project highlighted Activity 6, which focused on tourism human capital development, including Minor Activity 1: Training Center Management Development (Short Course Program) and Sub-Activity 4: “Co-Tourism Service Providers,” a workshop program held on 29–30 April 2026 at Preeda Homestay, Ao Luek District, Krabi Province.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Fapilai Taweesinsopa, Director of CHT, assigned Ajarn Amornrat Sutthithamanon, Lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality Program, and Dr. Chamaporn Meechana, Lecturer in the Bachelor of Accounting Program, to coordinate the program.
The activity focused on preparing tourism entrepreneurship and workforce with knowledge, understanding, and skills to boost and align with quality and sustainable tourism practices. Furthermore, it was privileged by distinguished guest speakers from the tourism and human resource development sectors, including Mr. Wiroon Boonon, Executive and Board Member of TUI Destination Experiences (Thailand) Co., Ltd. under the TUI Group, and Advisor to the President of the Phang Nga Tourism Business Association. who has over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry, covering inbound tourism, charter flights, cruise tourism, and MICE.
Another keynote speaker was Mr. Paranmes Ruangchaikittichot, a special lecturer and expert in human resource development. He serves as a Learning & Development Manager and HR consultant for private organizations. The speaker shared experiences in learning design, guidance of personnel competency development, and the integration of human resource development with the goals of business sustainability.
This project was another important step in fostering Thailand’s tourism industry, particularly in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman regions, allowing them to adapt to crises and progress toward high-quality tourism that creates long-term sustainable economic, social, and environmental value.
